Michelangelo Anselmi (born in Lucca? in 1491/92; died in Parma in 1554/56): son of a Parma exile; presumably trained in Siena; first documented in Parma in 1521, but had possibly returned earlier; active as a painter of fresco decorations and altarpieces, also designed ephemeral architectures; repeatedly engaged as appraiser of artistic projects.
