Born in Munich as Gabriele Lina Henriette Thieler in 1958. 1959 moved with her family to Berlin. 1976 to 1981 studied at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin, under K. H. Hödicke. 1982 artist in residence in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. 1984 working stipend from the Stiftung Kunstfonds Berlin. Lives and works in Berlin.
