1905 the family moves to Berlin. 1922-1926 Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Berlin, under Karl Hofer and others. 1927-1932 study sojourns in Sanary and Paris. Travels to Italy and Spain. 1933 marries and shares an atelier with the painter Louise Rosier. 1943 evacuation to Königstein. 1949 solo exhibition in the Frankfurt gallery of Hanna Bekker vom Rath.
