Filippino Lippi (born in Prato, 1457; died in Florence, 1504), son of the painter Fra Filippo Lippi, from 1472 worker in the workshop of Sandro Botticelli. Mainly active in Florence, also in Rome (1488-1493). The charming elegance of his paintings under the influence of Botticelli is later overlaid with restless forms in highly contrasting colours.
