Biography

Giovanni Battista Paggi (born in Genoa in 1554; died in Genoa in 1627), from a patrician family, was closely associated - as a pupil? - with Luca Cambiaso. In 1581 he fled to Florence after a murder; until his return to Genoa in 1599, he worked successfully as a painter in Tuscany.
