Bernardino Barbatelli, called Poccetti (born in Florence in 1548; died in Florence in 1612), was a pupil of Michele Tosini (called di Ridolfo) in Florence, where he initially frescoed palace facades. After a brief stay in Rome, 1578-1580, he very successfully undertook a number of fresco series on secular and religious themes that are distinguished by a clear, sophisticated narrative style.
