1947 begins teaching himself art. 1953-1955 lives in Paris. 1957 moves to Madrid. First exhibition at the Galerie Stadler, Paris. Founding of the group 'El Paso' (dissolved 1960). 1959 'documenta 2', Kassel. 1961 first exhibition at the Pierre Matisse Gallery, New York. 1965 destroys 100 of his paintings in Cuenca. 1967 returns to Paris. 1977 banished from France. 1979 retrospective in Amsterdam. Active as writer and publisher. 1989 retrospectives in Geneva and Valencia and elsewhere.
