Born in Hannover in 1955. 1976 to 1978 studied at the Gesamthochschule Kassel. 1978 to 1983 studied at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Dieter Krieg. Since 2008 professor at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Lives and works in Cologne.
