1957-1961 studies literature at the University of California, Berkeley and Santa Barbara. 1961-1964 studies art history at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut. Works with Josef Albers. Becomes acquainted with the artists of the New York School. 1964-1966 stay in Paris, subsequently in Florence (one-year scholarship). First one-man show in Rome. Numerous commissions for sculptures for museums and public spaces. 1986 retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
