Taddeo Zuccari (born in Sant'Angelo in Vado, Marches, in 1529; died in Rome in 1566) lived in Rome from about 1543. His first works were facade paintings in grisaille (not preserved). He later painted altarpieces and chapel frescoes. Starting in 1559, he was commissioned by Cardinal Alessandro Farnese to work on frescoes in the Farnese Palace in Caprarola. His designs were widely imitated in Rome. The artist was highly influential as a virtuoso draughtsman.
