About the Work
If the living body’s insides resemble the universe in structure and movement, Katharina Sieverding’s photography would be a borderline experience between anatomy and astronomy. Her artistic interest is in radiography. In ‘Capillary Dynamolysis I’ she seeks macrocosmic phenomena by way of X-rays and MRT cross sections. Whereas before she would trace planetary constellations in her mask-like face, now her X-rayed skull emerges behind a system of sunspots in the artist’s physiognomy.
