Back to the present

Almost 10 years after the opening of the Gartenhallen, the collection of contemporary art is presented anew for the first time. On more than 3000 square metres, the works from 1945 to the present day introduce new angles and surprising comparisons. Digitally you can see a selection from over 70 years of avant-garde and contemporary art. There is much to discover from Glöckner's geometric folds, to the abstraction of a Hans Hofmann and the gestures of Jean Fautrier, to the figurative painting of a Philip Guston and the expansion of painting into space.
