The Städel Collection of Prints and Drawings comprises drawings and prints from the late Middle Ages to the present day and is one of the most important collections of its kind in Germany. However, drawn or printed creations on paper are highly sensitive as they can take only small amounts of light. Therefore, the precious works can only be shown in exhibitions every once in a while.
